Republican leaders never have been interested in jobs, and they certainly aren't now.

Clearly, they're not interested in the deficit, either (except, perhaps, in increasing it). Those things are just political issues, only good for getting elected. Afterward, it's... cut taxes on the rich, as usual.

It's the same thing with States' Rights. That's a talking point, a political argument, nothing more. It's only used when fighting something they oppose. For something they support, it's ignored.

This seems so obvious to me that I can't understand how it still works for them. This isn't hidden, not at all. So how can the American people keep falling for it? How did we get to be this gullible?Bill Garthrighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08552459555883204060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-379287241318002122.post-87727844228281945062011-01-24T09:30:28.864-06:002011-01-24T09:30:28.864-06:00Hey, your right ... That's Interesting !
IMO,...Hey, your right ... That's Interesting !

IMO, the House Republicans are having a problem now that they no longer can just sit back and say "NO".
Let's look at John Kline, and being a Minnesotan, he is someone that I pay attention to his activities. Mr. Kline is a classic "NO" ... meaning "Neo-Con" "Obstructinist" ... as the ranking Republican on the Education Committee, he frequently opposed legislation offered by other committee Republicans - like child restraints and school lunches. He thwarted efforts to enact legislation after the Massey Mine deaths. Now, that he is in charge of the Committee, he still has not held one meeting (there will be an organizational meeting this week).

Did you read the Dana Milbank story (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/01/21/AR2011012104553.html) which looked at the legislative issues addressed thus far and the premise that the focus was supposed to be on Jobs but instead the legislation has been on implausible attempt to repeal healthcare and abortion ? The Republican Study Committee has outlined a number of programs to cut ... while not addressing the military programs or ethanol subsides ... and when you look into these programs, there appears to be political motivation ... for example, they want to cut the FreedomCAR program ... they don't mention that it was created by Bush and promoted by Congressman John Kline, but now that the industry has been labeled "Government Motors", there is a reason to cut the program (even though it created jobs in Minnesota).

Here's my question on healthcare reform .. the Republicans want to pay for it by enacting malpractice laws ... why isn't this a States Rights issue ... today, each State has the power to set their own limits, but if the Republicans enact their proposal the Federal law will trump the States.Minnesota Centralhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02462056292830437795noreply@blogger.com
