Well, all this is interesting to me, anyway, and that's what matters here. The Internet is a terrible thing for someone like me, who finds almost everything interesting.

Spiking the football
I posted something about this a couple of days ago, but I thought TPM did a particularly good job here of exposing Republican hypocrisy.
You've got to have a lot of gall to complain about Barack Obama in this, especially when he was just pointing out what his political opponents actually said, that they would not go after Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. In fact, that was one of the campaign issues in 2008.
After the fact, of course, they want to pretend otherwise. So were they just lying for political advantage back then? Or are they lying for political advantage now? It's got to be one or the other.
And do they really expect us to forget that orgy of self-congratulation that was the entire Bush administration? Heck, Bush never did get Osama bin Laden, but that didn't stop him from putting up a "Mission Accomplished" banner anyway.
Forced to brag about capturing someone who hadn't attacked us, who was no threat to us whatsoever, and who didn't even have any of those "weapons of mass destruction" the warmongers used as their excuse, Bush and his supporters did their best with what they had.
But listening to them now, you'd never know that. Now, they supposedly deplore what they once enthusiastically embraced. Well, these people are nothing if not hypocrites.
