Donald Trump's latest conspiracy theory

This just gets crazier and crazier, doesn't it?

Remember, birthers used to be an embarrassment to the Republican Party. Oh, sure, they encouraged it, but those Republicans who still kept in distant touch with reality were a bit embarrassed by it. Now, their candidate for President of the United States is a birther!

And not just that, either. Donald Trump is a conspiracy enthusiast to top all conspiracy enthusiasts. He's the National Enquirer of politicians. Reality has long since ceased to have any meaning for him. Yet this is the guy they want running the most powerful nation on Earth?

Of course, his fans, too, have long since parted ways with reality. And the rest of the Republicans would support Darth Vader if it would advance their political interests. They're Republicans, and they just don't care how crazy their party gets.

But this has stopped being funny, don't you think?

Yup, that's his shtick; "What's he going to say next?"

    1. It doesn't matter what he says next, does it, Jeff? None of it hurts him, no matter how loony, crude, or bigoted it is.

His fans are faith-based, not evidence-based. And in the Republican Party, this is exactly what they want to hear, that it's environmentalists who are causing all of the problems.

The worst thing is that his poll numbers go up with every stupid thing he says. The dumber it is, the more it gets reported everywhere, but that seems to help him, not hurt him.

Meanwhile, we've got progressives who can't seem to get their heads out of their asses. Donald Trump can't win, but the Democrats can definitely lose.

Sadly, stupidity seems to be catching.
