Secret Obama mind-control plot

()

Sure, there are a lot of crazy conspiracy theories out there, but what seems unique these days is the backing they get - no matter how batshit crazy they really are - from Republican Party leaders.

For example:
President Obama is using a Cold War-era mind-control technique known as "Delphi" to coerce Americans into accepting his plan for a United Nations-run communist dictatorship in which suburbanites will be forcibly relocated to cities. That's according to a four-hour briefing delivered to Republican state senators at the Georgia state Capitol last month.

On October 11, at a closed-door meeting of the Republican caucus convened by the body's majority leader, Chip Rogers, a tea party activist told Republican lawmakers that Obama was mounting this most diabolical conspiracy. The event—captured on tape by a member of the Athens-based watchdog Better Georgia (who was removed from the room after 52 minutes)—had been billed as an information session on Agenda 21, a nonbinding UN agreement that commits member nations to promote sustainable development. In the eyes of conservative activists, Agenda 21 is a nefarious plot that includes forcibly relocating non-urban-dwellers and prescribing mandatory contraception as a means of curbing population growth. The invitation to the Georgia state Senate event noted the presentation would explain: "How pleasant sounding names are fostering a Socialist plan to change the way we live, eat, learn, and communicate to 'save the earth.'"

I mean, sure, it's just Georgia.  :)  But last time I looked, Georgia is still part of the United States (though unhappy about it, apparently).

Seriously, I would never tar all Georgians with the same brush. Heck, I'm from Nebraska, so I'm the last person who'd think that!

Besides, this information comes from Better Georgia, and they add this:
Go ahead and laugh now.

We did, too, when we first heard the conspiracy theory about Agenda 21.

But let me tell you how serious this really is.

Majority Leader Rogers was two votes short of getting this bunk theory approved by the Senate last session. Two votes.

If his bill had become law, Georgia would have been banned from taking any grants connected with “smart growth,” “sustainable development,” or “historic preservation.”

This bill would have cost Georgia millions of dollars worth of Federal grants.

All because Georgia’s Senate Majority Leader and many of his colleagues believe the Georgia Chamber is using U.N. mind control.

Hey, guys, you have my sympathy. Even Nebraska, frustrating as it can be, isn't that bad - not yet, at least.

And the Atheist Experience reminds me that there are good people even in Texas, so I'll try to avoid making jokes about the Deep South. :)

Besides, as it turns out, I'm mad at Barack Obama myself. Just a week and a half from the election and he's already pissed me off by removing this petition from the White House website:
"Peacefully grant the people of the United States of America to have Grover Norquist be brought forth in chains and put in a public pillory. Once Grover Norquist has been secured, anyone who wishes will be allowed to punch him once, and only once, square in the dick."

Maybe I'm starting to understand why Obama makes some people so angry...
