I always knew Porky was a Godless Communist!
Judging by the patriotic tone of the cartoon, it was obviously made during WW2. We did quite well in that war despite not having those two magic words in the Pledge to help us gain divine favor. :)
Yeah, Jeff. Odd, isn't it? We had the godless Communists on our side, while the Nazis proudly proclaimed "Gott mit uns."
God was really slacking off back then, wasn't he? Or else he was just too busy deciding which football team was going to win each week.
