I remember, during the campaign, both John McCain and Hillary Clinton objecting to Obama's statement. Well, if you're trying to beat another candidate, you need to find points of disagreement. And if you can't find any, you need to manufacture some.
But I always thought that this specific objection was particularly weird, because how could any American really disagree with what Barack Obama said?
And now, it seems prescient, doesn't it? This is exactly what President Obama
did, and it was a great success. Heck, the
intelligence gathered might be an even bigger victory than finally killing Osama bin Laden. So I wonder if John McCain would still say that it was a mistake (presumably, Hillary Clinton wouldn't).
