Reality might be eternal, but I am not. I am immensely grateful to have existed, but I accept death. It's only natural.
I agree, Jim, although I don't accept death because it's natural. I accept it because it's inevitable. And, I suppose, I accept it because it's necessary, too.
But if you don't mind, I'll try to put it off as long as possible. :)
Seriously, we live far, far longer than our ancestors did, and that's made a huge difference in human welfare and happiness. I'd love to see lifespans extended even more, even though that wouldn't come without some disadvantages, too.
But yeah, when you get to the end, life is going to seem short no matter what. We won a lottery being born - and another one being born into a prosperous modern democracy - so it's hard to bitch too much about not lasting forever, isn't it?
