GOP Loko - blackout in a can

John Cole's commentary:

Under pressure from the FDA and various state governments, manufacturers of caffeine-laced malt beverages like “Four Loko” are in the process of pulling their products from shelves. Health advocates warn the drinks’ stimulative ingredients mask the debilitating effects of  the alcohol. In other words, the drinker doesn’t realize how drunk they’re getting until it’s too late. The drinks consequently have earned the nickname, “blackout in a can.”

The GOP’s recipe for economic recovery seems to suffer a similar sort of blackout. Indeed, Boehner, McConnell and Co. want nothing more than to return to the old favor-the-rich, laissez-faire approaches that exponentially increased income disparities, fostered unsustainable economic bubbles and landed the global economy in the dumper.

So party on, dudes!

The weird thing about this stuff is that you apparently suffer amnesia before you drink it. At least, that's the only explanation I can see.
