Guns in bars is SUCH a good idea...

Excerpt from TPM:
A Tennessee lawmaker who is a major proponent of legislation allowing gun owners to carry firearms in bars was arrested on Tuesday and charged with driving under the influence and possession of a handgun while under the influence, Davidson County Sheriff's Office confirmed to TPM.

Rep. Curry Todd (R) was pulled over around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to the local Fox affiliate. Todd allegedly failed a roadside sobriety test and refused to take a breathalyzer test, the Associated Press reports. The gun -- a Smith & Wesson 38 Special -- was holstered next to the driver's seat and loaded.

According to the police affidavit, Todd was "very unsteady on his feet, almost falling down at times. ... His speech was slurred, his eyes were red, watery and bloodshot. ... The subject was obviously very impaired and not in any condition to be carrying a loaded handgun."

Yes, guns make us all so much safer, huh? And mixing guns and alcohol is like mixing cars and alcohol - it's just the American way.

Honestly, what "real" American could object to carrying guns in bars, in schools, in office buildings,... really, anywhere at all? And a couple of shots of whiskey will just steady your aim. Gee, haven't you ever watched a TV or movie western?

I don't see how it's going to make a difference.

Example-the guy the was drunk driving.

But Cinnamonbite, most people don't drink and drive. He was arrested for that.

Since they've cracked down on drunk driving (when I was in college, at worst they'd just confiscate your booze), most people are far more cautious about it. Not everyone, true. But it does affect behavior.

Laws don't stop everyone, but that doesn't mean they don't do anything at all. People still drink and drive, but if we made it legal, we'd see a lot more of it.

PS. Thanks for your comments. I don't get many comments here, so I really appreciate the ones I do get! :)
