I'm not a fan of the Boy Scouts, since the organization engages in religious discrimination, but I thought this cartoon was pretty good. Really, these leaked diplomatic cables show America's diplomats in a pretty good light, I'd say. And our government, too.
You might argue that you don't like everything in those leaked cables, but think about it. Imagine shining a light in the deepest, darkest, most secretive parts of our government and finding... nothing too disturbing at all. Frankly, the complete absence of shocking revelations is pretty great, don't you think? Sure, there are minor issues, but that's all.
It could have been worse. And at other times in our history, it would have been worse. Maybe we're not as bad as we sometimes think.
