This won't stop the deniers, of course. The faith-based will stick with their dogma, no matter what. And it's the rare Republican who'll admit to reality, even when they know better.
Oh, I don't feel at all sorry for them. They created this anti-science bullshit, after all. They nurtured it, at least. They've used it, just like they've used racism. Remember, in 2012, it was hard to get Republican candidates for president to even admit that
evolution exists, let alone global warming.
I feel sorry for the rest of us though. I feel sorry for the world, and I feel sorry for my country, which is increasingly being viewed as
batshit crazy by the rest of the planet.
