Mr. Unclean

What's with these libertarians, anyway? I see a lot of young people buying into this idiocy, too. I just don't get it.

These are middle-class people, often enough (not just the Koch brothers, who expect their political donations to turn a profit), who don't seem to realize the advantages they've had living in our society. Well, I suppose that fish don't think of water much, either, until it becomes foul.

We have regulations for good reason. As a nation, we've learned what the lack of regulations can do to us. But in many cases, regulations have apparently been so effective that we've forgotten why we have them in the first place.

Or else it's just that faith-based ideology is resistant to the evidence of history. I'd always assumed that we'd learned from the Great Depression, too, but even after 2008 showed the dangers of forgetting all that, Republicans are still pushing to deregulate the banking industry. Well, that's the problem with faith-based thinking.

And libertarian ideology is faith-based. Senator Dunghands von Fecalfingers demonstrates just how ridiculous it really is.

I read that the other day on Addicting Info. And some conserva-troll named Rob Estoll had the cajones to DEFEND HIM:

"He didn't say they shouldn't wash thier hands. He doesn't think it should be a law. You liberals need laws to dictate common sense so you don't have to think for yourself. How are your liberal gun laws working? Most mass shootings take place in gun free zones. The cities with the strictest gun laws have the highest crime and murder rates. Get some common sense people. Do you seriously need a law telling you to wash your hands after you use the restroom?"

Click the link and scroll down to the comments for my R-Rated reply (and his weak-ass retort). Jody P was very lucky that I could only kid-glove him on the LJS. On AddictingInfo, my elbows get VERY sharp.

"Most mass shootings take place in gun free zones"? He should tell that to Europe.

Speaking of Jon Stewart, go to the second half of this clip:

OMG!! That Democratic Florida Congressman absolutely CRUSHED that Republican from Texas!!

Nothing dials up my schadenfreude meter up to 11 like seeing a Republican get his butt handed to him. At the same time, that exchange was quite sad. This is the level of decorum and discourse our "leaders" have deteriorated to during official business? How much longer will it be before Congress ends up like the parliament in Taiwan, where it's been known to erupt into an all-out bare-knuckles brawl?

But I don't have much room to talk. I'm just as guilty as them in my dealings with the conserva-trolls.
