This, along with the following clip, is one of Jon Stewart's best. Really. It's absolutely hilarious. But it's also scary. How insane can Glenn Beck get without losing his followers? As far as I can tell, there's no limit, none at all.
While listening to Glenn Beck explain his conspiracy theory, it struck me that he was describing Fox "News" and the rest of the right-wing, right down to the overblown rhetoric about election fraud. (Funny how that has disappeared - only temporarily, I'm sure - right after they won the recent election, isn't it?) But yeah, Stewart was on it.
And the sequel is funnier yet. Sorry, but I can't embed two video clips in the same post. It always causes trouble here. But here's the link. Watch the clip above and then continue to the rest of the story (if you'll pardon the phrase) on Comedy Central. Trust me, it's worth it. It's just hilarious!
But it's also scary - very, very scary. What has happened to us that a lunatic like Glenn Beck - and indeed, all of Fox "News" - is making money hand over fist? I keep thinking things can't get crazier,... but then they do. And as the right-wing gets more and more extreme, as they get into complete cloud-cuckoo land, crazier and crazier and crazier, they don't seem to lose any support.
How can that be? What in the world has happened to us?
