And the crazy, it just keeps coming

I suppose you can consider this the last crazy from the old year, since it was posted at TPM on Dec. 31, but a Georgia Republican (of course) is certainly out to make a name for himself:

Georgia state Rep. Bobby Franklin (R) has sponsored legislation to force the state to conduct all monetary transactions with U.S. gold or silver coins.

Yeah, none of that newfangled currency for them good ole' boys, huh? This bill will require the state to pay everything - including wages - in gold or silver coins. Heh, heh. Ah, the loony is strong in this one!
