Government employment |
Another one from Indecision Forever:
As it happens, this morning's job report also confirms my preconceived notion that Obama is the worst socialist president, ever. As seen on the FRED graph, public sector employment steadily rose during the George W. Bush administration. But since Barack Obama imposed his Kenyan anti-colonialist thinking on the U.S. economy, 648,000 public jobs (i.e., the sum of state, local, and federal employment) have been eliminated. Were it not for a 9,000 job reduction in government employment, payrolls would have increased by 172,000 positions last month.
Future generations are probably going to wonder how a Sharia socialist presided over the lowest level of public-sector employment in over 30 years, but it will be difficult to explain this to them with no teachers left.
Of course, this is the exact opposite of what we should have been doing, since cutting employment - private or public - during a recession just makes the recession worse.
Indeed, this is the exact opposite of what we've done in every recession since the Great Depression, including under every Republican president. Of course, Republican presidents had a Democratic opposition which cared more for America than for their own political ambition.
Barack Obama, on the other hand, has an opposition which is quite willing to destroy America - certainly to destroy our economy - if that's what it takes to get a political advantage. Well, you can't make an omelet without breaking eggs, right?
Of course, Republican leaders don't get all of the blame for this. As usual, Democrats have been too timid even to fight back effectively. And most of the blame goes to the American people - too ignorant, too gullible, too bigoted, and/or too apathetic to vote as they should.
After eight years of the George W. Bush administration, that's just criminal! If that didn't teach us anything, what will?
