Stephen Colbert on Meet the Press

This is David Gregory interviewing Stephen Colbert, and not Colbert's online persona, either. So it's not funny, but it is interesting, I thought.

I read a quote out of Reader's Digest many years ago that went something like this:

"Humor is the affectionate communication of insight."

Stephen's right about comedy helping the "medicine go down," so to speak. Comedians are great observers of the world around them.

George Carlin often said when you're born into this world, you get a ticket to the freak show. When you're born in America, you get a FRONT ROW SEAT. And some of us sit there and take notes, he said.
