Yeah, I can't say that I'm filled with optimism about 2011 - or the years after that, either. Here in America, we desperately need smarter citizens. But wishing isn't going to make it so. (That's been part of our problem.)
But we can't give up, either. So pull out the Maalox and toast the new year, then roll up your sleeves. After all, if you're a pessimist, all surprises will be pleasant ones, right? My expectations are so low right now that it might be hard for 2011 to under-perform them.
