One of my favorite comics,
Calamities of Nature, is ending today.
Apparently, the author, Tony Piro, is quitting to devote more time to his academic career.
That's certainly understandable, but I'll miss his comic. It's really good. Unfortunately, I couldn't post them here, because horizontally-formatted comics don't fit in my narrow columns. (That's a shame, because I read a lot of comics every day.)
However, if you're curious, here are links to a few of his comics, starting with his last, today's:
March 12, 2012 - Fairies
Febr. 23, 2012 - Transgenesis
Jan. 26, 2012 - Civilized
Jan. 2, 2012 - Picking and Choosing
Dec. 21, 2011 - 'Tis the Season
Nov. 17, 2011 - Plato
Jan. 16, 2012 - Failure

That's too bad, but I know just from the couple of times I've experimented with comics it is darn near impossible to come up with something funny everyday. I really admire cartoonists.
I agree, John. I don't know how they do it.
